We're finally seeing the fruits of our labor! Literally!
Our first Genovese tomato:

In the meantime, we've been plucking the occasional red tomatoes from the hanging Red Robin plants: 
And the much younger Red Robin plant is starting to flower: 
I'm amazed at the luck we've been having with the Red Robins and will probably grow them every single year.
Meanwhile, one of the Alexandria strawberry plants has created a flower! It's too early to let a brand new everbearing variety set fruit, though. I pinched the flower off in the spirit of tough love. I was tempted to leave it, but we'll have more strawberries next summer as a result:

I'm going to have to add Red Robin Tomatoes to next year's planting list...they look great! It IS ever so painful pinching off those tiny buds of strawberry promise the first year of growth, isn't it? It will pay off in the long run, though.

Beautiful. I PROMISE next year I will at least have a couple of tomato plants. So I live through you pictures. YUM.
One Acre: We love them! Super compact but also way delicious. And according to Dave's Garden, they actually grow true from seed! I'll be saving seeds for next year, for sure.
Aunt Debbi: They're great for fall, if you can make sure they get some sun (even through a window). I got my seeds from Reimer, but their shipping is very high. I'd shop around a bit. If I manage to collect enough seeds from the Red Robins, I plan on giving packets of seeds to friends. I'd totally trade seed with you or send it to you for just the cost of shipping & the envelope.

Lewru, the Red Robins are by far the best container tomato I've found so far. I love them!
